THE SEAMUS HEANEY CENTRE
Pádraigín Ní Uallacháin is a traditional singer, author and songwriter. She has been appointed as the first traditional singer in Queens University, Belfast, based in the Seamus Heaney Centre for Poetry in the School of English. Her residency is co funded by Foras na Gaeilge.

Professor John Thompson, Head of English, Queen's University, and Professor Ciaran Carson Director of The Seamus Heaney Centre for Poetry formally welcomed Pádraigín at a reception held in the Old Staff Room, Lanyon Bulding, 23 November, to announce Queen's first resident singer. The reception was also hosted by Foras na Gaeilge, represented by Deirdre Davitt.

AN LEABHAR MÓR - The Great Book of Gaelic
Since taking up residency at the Seamus Heaney Centre for Poetry, Padraigin has been collaborating with Iomairt Cholmcille and Ultach Trust in Belfast in its series of events based around the exhibition of An Leabhar Mór (The Great Book of Gaelic) which is currently exhibited in the Ulster Museum Belfast October-November 2005-10-18

Padraigin's residency in the Seamus Heaney Centre is funded by Foras na Gaeilge. Her most recent CD 'Áilleacht' released and published on the Gael Linn label, was initiated financially by Foras na Gaeilge
