Pádraigín is a former teacher of young children and is a mother of two sons. As a parent and teacher, she realised how little traditional song material was available for families to enjoy and learn together, which was of a high recording standard and accompaniment by professional musicians.
She set about recording a collection of songs, produced by Garry Ó Briain and Dónal O’Connor, that could be enjoyed by adults and children together both at home and in the classroom. To date she has recorded over 60 songs for young people. As well as the recordings below, Pádraigín’s new composition ‘An Colm’ featured on Mama’s Lullaby: Lullabies Sung By Women Around the World.
